In The Press – eBook news

HarperCollins has created an iPhone app for Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall, according to The Bookseller. Despite my Luddite tendencies, this might very well enhance the reading experience for readers of Wolf Hall who are interested in the history as much as the drama.

The New York Times has announced plans for a mobile app for its Book Review section, according to Business Insider. Interesting potential for sell-through. The New York Times as book retailer? Why not?

The Bookseller is reporting that book sales are 6.6% down, year on year, in the UK. Everyone knows the traditional retail model is flawed and close to totally broken. The question is, will new platforms rescue the business, and if so, how?
